History of Chicago Street Dance

We are truly the birthplace of “All Dance Styles”.  Chicago is known for various creations and innovations in all forms of Pop Culture, Manufacturing, The Arts, Architecture, Film, Food, Music and Dance. Most people from Chicago and just about all over the world think Chicago is a consumer-based town due to how much we promote and support acts, music, dance etc. from elsewhere but what the mainstream world and Chicago doesn’t know is that Chicago’s Dance Lineage is over a Century old and some of the most popular dances either have roots or were and are still created here. Chicago also was and still is the home or stomping grounds to a lot of Chicago-based dancers that took Chicago-Style dances all over the world or were very influential in popular dance styles & music genres known today in Chicago and all over the world.
